Non-alcoholic cocktails can still have the drama and sophistication of the real thing. These grapefruit juice mocktails appeal to a grown-up palate.

With a few ingredients, you can stock your non-alcoholic bar and whip up mixed drinks that will leave your party guests with fun memories, and no hangovers the next day.

Play bartender or let your guests get creative without getting smashed. Here are some refreshing ideas to get things started.

Gray Dog

A takeoff on a Salty Dog, this brisk cooler is perfect for revelers who like their lips a little puckered.

In a cocktail shaker or large glass, pour in grapefruit juice and tonic water. Shake or stir vigorously. Pour into a highball glass and add ice. Spear a lime chunk with a toothpick for garnish.

Grapefruit Fizz

You won’t need a degree in mixology here. This drink could not be easier and is bursting with grapefruit flavor. The grapefruit flavored soda gives the juice sparkle and the juice gives the soda an authentic citrus flavor. For a toned down verson, substitute club soda for the grapefruit soda.

In a cocktail shaker or large glass, stir together grapefruit juice and Squirt. Pour over ice in a highball or double old fashioned glass. Garnish with a wedge of lemon to bring out the sourness of the citrus.

Orange and Grapefruit Fizz

This juicy beverage has the sweetness of oranges and the tart citrus of grapefruit, cut by refreshing bubbles. Replace club soda with tonic water to amp up the tartness and sophistication.

In a cocktail shaker or large glass, combine juices. Pour over ice into a double old fashioned glass and add club soda to fill. Stir gently and garnish with a deep green lime wedge.

Bubbles on the Beach

Load up on the fun instead of the liquor with this festive and colorful beachy brew. Bonus points for perching a tiny umbrella in the glass!

Pour grapefruit and cranberry juice into hurricane glass full of ice. Add a splash of soda to fill. Skewer a lime wedge with a little umbrella for shade or leave out the umbrella and enjoy this sunny drink.

Easy Breeze

The responsible cousin of a Sea Breeze, the Easy Breeze will give you the splash without the sunburn.

In a highball glass filled with ice pour grapefruit juice and Squirt, and stir. Then gently pour in cranberry juice for a two toned mocktail. Garnish with lemon or lime slice — or one of each for two toned garnishes.

Tangerine Sparkle

Pour juices into a cocktail shaker or large glass. Squeeze in juice from two lemon wedges and add a dash of grenadine. Shake or stir all the ingredients. Pour over ice into a highball or other fancy glass. This drink screams out for a fancy straw and a lemon wedge as garnish.
